The Silver Spur Open Fishing Tournament is an annual event to raise funds to help under privileged youth in Central Florida. Tommy and Lisa McAden, founders of the Silver Spur Open Tournament, have a passion for helping young people who need guidance to living a better life. And a special shout out to the many volunteers from the Osceola Anglers who were critical to the success of the tournament.
Thanks to the McAdens, the Osceola Anglers and our many sponsors that helped raise almost $200,000 in the past four years of the Silver Spur Open. Let’s do it again next year!
Dozens gathered on the shores of Cat Lake in Osceola County on March 9th to fish, skeet shoot, play cornhole and enjoy great food and fellowship, and most importantly to raise funds to support the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches around the state. When the fun was over, a check for $50,000 was presented to Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez.
The annual Silver Spur Open Fishing Tournament on Cat Lake featured more than $5,000 in prize money, courtesy of Tommy and Lisa McAden who are founding members of the tournament. The hotly contested cornhole tournament also offered a $500 prize. There were buggy rides, skeet shooting and lots of kid’s activities as well.
Osceola County Sheriffs Deputies manned the grills and didn’t disappoint with steaks and plenty of food to satisfy all in attendance. It was a great event for a great cause.
Thanks to Tommy and Lisa McAden, the founders and ongoing Platinum Sponsors of the Silver Spur Open Fishing Tournament.
